"Uralmashplant" JSC (UZTM) signed a contract with Karelsky Okatysh (part of GMK Severstal) for supply of a gyratory crusher KKD-1500/180M with enhanced performance and crushed product quality. At present, this level of performance is one of the highest among the primary crushers used in the Russian iron-ore industry.
The modernized crusher KKD-1500x180M of 430 tons in weight will be fully custom-made and equipped with state-of-the-art control systems. It should provide for a capacity of 5000 t at least (the existing ones of KKD type only achieve 4300 tph). The crushed product size shall not exceed 250 mm (300 mm now). These capacity parameters are among the highest for the Russian primary crushers used by the iron-ore industry.
"The main requirements of mining and processing enterprises are increase of capacity and enhancement of crushed product quality, high reliability and maintainability. The design parameters of the equipment used in ore processing should provide for implementation of companies' plans. The experience and potential of Uralmashplant allow materializing any customers' desires, overcoming any ambitious engineering challenges," says Dmitry Andryushenkov, PhD, chief designer of crushing equipment.
At present, Karelsky Okatysh successfully operates twelve gyratory and cone crushers with UZTM trademark: two gyratory crushers, six tertiary cone crushers, and four secondary cone crushers.
Karelsky Okatysh is one of the leaders among Russian iron-ore producers; it forms part of Severstal company. The enterprise reported an output of almost 5.6 million tons of pellets in the fist half of this year, a figure that exceeds the business plan objectives.
