Metallurgical equipment division of Uralmash-Engineering Ltd is a developer and supplier of process equipment for metallurgical companies. The backbone of the company is formed by design departments of Uralmashzavod with over 75 years of experience in the creation of metallurgical machinery. While this real experience provides a basis for the technical policy and research work to enhance metallurgical equipment, the company follows all world trends, considering technological, ecological, energy saving, equipment and end product quality requirements.
Metallurgical equipment division of Uralmash-Engineering Ltd - is a competent partner in the development of products to the customer's requirements, offering a high technical level, reliable and cost-effective operation in any climatic conditions, environment-aware technologies. When upgrading metallurgical equipment, in each case the company works towards and achieves the result with minimum customer-born costs.
The strong side of the division lies in the high competence of engineering specialists, resulting from their scientific and technological potential. The company employs experienced design personnel which are capable of developing both basic and detail engineering for a broad range of equipment manufactured by the company.
For designing purposes the division uses and is continuing to introduce APMs of all levels ranging from flat designing (AutoCad 2002) to solid modeling (Solid Edge 12) and designing of equipment sets consisting of multiple assembly units (Unigrafics 18). Any calculations required for designing are carried out in the ANSYS software package and a variety of programs developed by company employees. When developing electric drive and automation systems, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Wonderware and other software packages are used.
The most significant achievements in equipment design which facilitated the technological progress in metallurgy:
- Creation of structural mills;
- Creation of highly efficient automatic blooming mills;
- Creation of cold and hot tube-rolling mills;
- Creation of equipment for manufacture of railway wheels;
- Creation of a range of equipment for cold strip rolling;
- Creation of press-forging equipment for non-ferrous metallurgy under a special government program of aeronautics and space rocket engineering development, within the framework of which 49 forging and stamping presses and a number of stretchers were supplied to production plants across this country;
- Creation of a range of blast furnace equipment;
- Creation of new sintering plants with a large sintering area;
- Creation of technologies and equipment for rail oil quenching in cooperation with technological institutes;
- Creation of absolutely new curvilinear continuous casting machines;
- Creation of absolutely new induration machines for ore pellets production;
- Creation of a unique universal beam rolling mill;
- Creation of ring-rolling mills.
